Finding Balance
Kundalini Yoga Workshop
with Tonie Nooyens
Life is an adventure and challenges are part of life. When we are able to live up to the challenges life proposes to us, and when we can meet them with grace and confidence, we will be able to enjoy life and live happily, healthy and prosperous.
But life often seems to be unkind to us, and continuously throws us off balance physically and emotionally. Stress, worries, fear, anger, remorse and trauma often dominate our lives causing unhappiness, distress and illness.
Join this workshop to work on the balance between our physical and mental being, to align ourselves with our deep wishes and longings, and to deal with the challenges of life.
Discover the possibilities of yoga and meditation to focus ourselves and to open ourselves to the strength and energy that is part of us and all.
Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan is a yoga of awareness. It is a holistic yoga working on all aspects of the body, mind and soul continuum. Kundalini Yoga is a Raj Yoga combining different techniques and practices from the ancient yoga and meditation traditions to strengthen the awareness of our outer and inner self, and to reach into our creative potential.
A Kundalini Yoga session comprises mantra (chanting and music), pranayama (breathing), mudra (hand gestures), bandha (body locks), asana (body postures), relaxation and meditation.
Tonie Nooyens is a long time practitioner in different traditions of meditation, meditational yoga and healing, including Vipassana, Zen and Tibetan Buddhism. He is a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher and, as one of the lead trainers on the KRI Asia Teacher Training Program, travels extensively throughout Asia.
Tonie and his partner Hanneke Meijers have been working on social and economic development projects in Asia and Africa. Since January 2007 their activities are concentrated in Cambodia, conducting a Yoga and Meditation training program for Cambodians, and setting up stress and trauma relief activities, as well as communication and personal capacity training for vulnerable groups.
Tonie Nooyens will donate the proceeds of public workshops and classes in Taiwan to the yoga education of Yan Vannac, yoga and meditation teacher at Nata Raj Yoga Center and at the Kundalini Yoga House in Cambodia.
Some information about Yan Vannac
My Name is Yan Vannac. I am 28 years old and the first qualified yoga teacher in Cambodia. I was in Cairns, Australia, in July 2008 for my first teacher training course, the “Foundation Level”, with Nicky Knoff Yoga.
And I obtained my level 1 certification as a Kundalini Yoga teacher in the beginning of 2009.
For this year I look forward to go again to Nicky Knoff School to obtain my intermediate level. I have been teaching Knoff Yoga at Nata Raj Center and I teach Kundalini Yoga classes at the Kundalini Yoga House and with different NGOs in Phnom Penh. I like to bring the yoga experience to disadvantaged Khmer people like orphans and girls that have been trafficked in the past. I work with them since about two years.
It is very hard for me to support my self. The course in Australia is very expensive for a Cambodian. And I also follow the Kundalini Yoga level II Teacher Training in Thailand. Any amount in funds that will be raised I will use for the intermediate course of Nicky Knoff Yoga in August and for the Kundalini Yoga level II Teacher Training in Thailand in October.
I appreciate the help from all of you. Thank you so much..
Namaste and Sat Nam,
Vannac (Daramjit)
